Aftercare Guide
Anti-Wrinkle Injections Aftercare
Following the right aftercare for the first 24 hours after anti-wrinkle treatment makes a real difference to your results. Here's everything you need to know, from a GDC-registered dental surgeon.
First 24 Hours
The most important window for optimal results
- Stay upright for at least 4 hours — no lying down or bending over
- Gently exercise the treated muscles (frown, raise eyebrows) every 30 minutes for the first hour
- Avoid touching, pressing, or massaging the treated area
- Apply a cool compress if there's any mild redness (not ice directly on skin)
- Keep the area clean — use gentle cleanser only, pat dry
- Drink plenty of water
- Return to normal daily activities immediately
First Week
- Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, steam rooms, and hot yoga for 24-48 hours
- No facials, microneedling, or chemical peels for 2 weeks
- Avoid alcohol for 24 hours — it can worsen bruising
- Sleep with your head slightly elevated for the first 2 nights
- Results start appearing around day 3-5, full effect at day 14
- Book your complimentary follow-up at 2 weeks for assessment
Long-Term Care
- Results typically last 3-4 months
- Book your next appointment before the effect fully wears off — this helps maintain consistent results and can extend the intervals between treatments over time
- Use SPF daily — sun protection preserves your skin and your results
- Stay consistent with your skincare routine
What to Avoid
- ●Massaging or manipulating the treated area for 24 hours
- ●Lying flat or face-down for 4 hours post-treatment
- ●Hot environments (saunas, steam rooms, hot yoga) for 48 hours
- ●Intense exercise for 24-48 hours
- ●Alcohol for 24 hours
- ●Blood-thinning supplements (fish oil, vitamin E) for 24-48 hours
- ●Other facial treatments for 2 weeks

Common Questions
Can I wear makeup after treatment?
Avoid makeup for the first 4 hours to reduce infection risk. After that, light makeup is fine — use clean brushes or fingers.
What if I don't see results after a week?
Full effect takes up to 14 days. If you don't see the result you want by day 14, book a complimentary follow-up with Dr Niru to assess.
Can I fly after anti-wrinkle treatment?
Yes, flying is safe after anti-wrinkle injections. There's no restriction on air travel post-treatment.
When can I get my next treatment?
Typically 3-4 months later, before the effect has fully worn off. Dr Niru will advise at your follow-up what's optimal for you.
